The inspiration behind our scents

Our ‘Big Sur’ scent is a playground of fragrance oils, much like the coastline itself with its lush vegetation, mountainous terrain and pacific spray mingle, you’ll be breathless with the beauty of this magical place. Combining the scents of green herbs, iconics woods, eucalyptus & pepper oils, with a blend of citrus peels from bergamot, lime, to grapefruit & orange, with an ambery musky base. Designed to put you amongst the redwoods, inspired by sunny Californian days, relaxed amongst the greenery and sea spray.

This incredible place was love at first sight. Wandering round the lavender farms, hiking waterfall trails through fern abundant woodland walks, you could never be bored here. Its beauty only grows when you realise the amazing wildlife that call this place home, where mountains meet the sea. The itself scent is inspired by a wonderful walk up to a waterfall, where a stream runs alongside the pathway. At certain times of year the stream that leads to the sea, is where adult seals leave their pups whilst they hunt, so you are caught off guard when admiring the luscious green ferns when all of sudden a little head pops up to greet you! The stream makes for a very relaxing place to sit, breathe, and take in the wonder that is our world.

The incredible Monteverde cloud forest in Costa Rica. This place is where you let go of fear. Zip lining, hiking, climbing, amongst the trees. The misty jungle is often cloud covered, with warmth hitting you from the dappled sunshine through the tree tops. Smell the lush canopies of leafy vegetation soaked with rain, bringing you earthy rich soils, warmed by exotic floral heart notes of orchid, ylang ylang and tuberose, intertwined with silky woods & deep patchouli strong>

The inspiration for this scent came from a tough time where the only solace found was in the garden. LORDS Fragrance House is a brand born from experience & travel, and recent times took that away. The garden became a refuge for many of us, a place to have hope and enjoy the simpler things. This scent was born whilst swinging in a hammock nestled in a tree, watching the bees buzz from flower to flower in an Oxfordshire garden.

Pengelli Forest is part of the largest block of ancient Oak copse in west Wales, and it is this wonderful woodland that inspired this floral green scent. Experience spring time flowers when walking through a sun dappled wood. Visiting a woods when bluebells are in bloom is an experience a lot of us have fond memories and connections too, with a favourite location to go and see them.

Inspired by sunny Italian days on the Amalfi Coast. Driving the windy coastal roads with the citrus scented breeze hitting you at every bend. Sat eating delicious food, finishing every meal with limoncello & a smile. The fragrant aroma of freshly chopped basil, mint leaves and green trailing tomato vines ripening in the sun. Lifted by the beautiful citrus essence of bergamot, pomelo and a dash of creamy limoncello. A gentle Mediterranean breeze carries the fragrance of watery blossoms, woods and a soft moss to finish.

The inspiration for this scent came from the warm Baja sunshine. Imagine pink filled skies, excited happy minds and souls surrounded by an incredible landscape. Calm seas, bordered by cactuses, and amazing fauna. San Ignacio Lagoon offers refuge for female Gray Whales. Every year they come to the calm waters to have their calves. There are a few lucky human visitors these amazing creatures choose to interact with. The scent here tries to encompass the warm sense you are left with after an amazing day out on the lagoon.

The inspiration for this scent comes from my happy place, my tranquillity & the place I have visited more than any other, Trebarwith Strand, Cornwall. From childhood days playing in the surf to now, experiencing this amazing beach with wine in hand. Fun filled days body boarding in the sea, wrapping yourself in a towel & eating hot donuts on the sand. Ending the day with a warm candlelit bath, and family conversation by the fire. A truly relaxing escape.

The inspiration for this scent comes from the wonder that is Yellowstone National Park. This amazing place is hard to put into words. Rivers, geysers, volcanic rumblings, an abundance of wildlife, and heat & cold all in one place. A sensory overload that leaves you feeling a part of a much bigger world than the one you were in before you came here.

This winter warmer was actually inspired by sunny days in Sri Lanka. The spices frequently used in the amazing country are ones the western world associate with winter, so when attempting a Sri Lankan inspired blend, a festive fragrance accidentally came to fruition! Yala is an incredible national park where elephants & leopards prowl the land, and humans & wildlife have learnt to live together. Sri Lanka is very well known for producing a lot of the worlds tea, and seeing the tea plantations & the growth of the plants, from the tea leaves to black peppercorns, a blend had to be created to showcase the wonder of it all.
