What is LORDS Fragrance House?

LORDS is an independent British home and body fragrance brand founded in 2021 by Sasha Lord. We create luxury scented candles, reed diffusers, room sprays, fragrance oils and body products, all inspired by incredible destinations around the world.

We're based in Oxfordshire, where we combine years of fragrance expertise with colourful design, carefully developed scents and a love of the places that make us feel something.

Is LORDS a British candle brand?

Yes! LORDS is a British fragrance brand, with our candles hand-poured in Oxfordshire, England. Our fragrances take inspiration from destinations around the world, but the brand is proudly rooted in British fragrance craftsmanship.

Who founded LORDS Fragrance House?

LORDS was founded by Sasha Lord in 2021, after spending more than a decade in the fragrance and cosmetics industry helping other brands develop their scents and products.

Having spent years creating fragrances for other people, Sasha decided it was time to create her own. LORDS brings together her love of travel, fragrance, colour and interiors.

Every LORDS scent is inspired by a real place and real memories of trips that our founder has been on and got inspired by, from the wild landscapes of Yellowstone to the citrus-filled coastline of Positano.

We combine professional fragrance expertise with colourful, playful design, hand-poured candles and refillable home fragrance options. Beautiful scents, beautiful objects and a little escapism without leaving the house.

Is LORDS an independent, female-founded fragrance brand?

Absolutely. LORDS is an independent, female-founded business based in Oxfordshire. Founded by Sasha Lord, the brand was built to offer something a little different from the traditional world of luxury home fragrance: more colour, more character and scents that tell stories. We are members of the Buy Women Built community.

Yellowstone is one of our bestselling fragrances. Earthy, woody and wonderfully distinctive, it combines eucalyptus, sagebrush, earth orris, patchouli and oakmoss.

What are the best woody and earthy scented candles?

For earthy, woody fragrance lovers, we recommend Yellowstone. Inspired by Yellowstone National Park, it brings together sagebrush, eucalyptus, earth orris and oakmoss.

If you prefer the fresh, green scent of pine forests, Abernethy Forest offers a different take on the great outdoors, with pine, cedarwood, peppermint and moss.

Which LORDS candle smells like a forest?

Abernethy Forest is inspired by the pine forests of the Scottish Cairngorms, blending pine, cedarwood, moss, peppermint and woody notes.

For something a little more rugged and earthy, try Yellowstone, inspired by the vast wilderness of the American national park.

What are the best fresh, green scented candles?

If fresh, botanical fragrances are your thing, Positano is a beautiful place to start. Inspired by Italy's Amalfi Coast, it combines bergamot, pomelo, tomato vine, basil and mint.

For something greener and more atmospheric, Monteverde captures the feeling of a lush Costa Rican rainforest, with rain-inspired notes, green woods and orchid.

Oxfordshire captures the feeling of a flourishing English garden, with blackcurrant bud, rose geranium, wildflowers and sweet pea, balanced by moss, musk and guaiacwood.

Which LORDS fragrances are best for relaxation?

If you enjoy soft, calming fragrance profiles, try Travel to Dreamland, Trebarwith Strand or Kaikoura.

Trebarwith Strand combines English lavender, wildflowers, camomile, basil and soft cotton notes, while Kaikoura blends lavender, chamomile, floral notes, green ferns and marine woods.

Both are lovely choices for creating a relaxing atmosphere at home.

What is the best LORDS fragrance for autumn and winter?

For warming autumn and winter fragrance, Yala combines Ceylon black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, frankincense and amber, lifted with grapefruit and black pepper.

For a fresh, forest-inspired winter scent, try Abernethy Forest. For a more traditional festive fragrance, Colmar brings together orange, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.

What is the difference between a scented pillar candle and a jar candle?

Our pillar candles are designed to offer decorative appeal and subtle fragrance. They're particularly lovely for tablescapes, shelves and decorative arrangements.

If you're looking for stronger room-filling fragrance, we recommend our scented candles in glass or ceramic vessels, which are designed for a more noticeable scent throw.

Can I fragrance my home without lighting candles?

Of course. We offer reed diffusers, room and linen sprays, fragrance oils and electric diffuser options.

For continuous, low-maintenance fragrance, reed diffusers are a fantastic choice. For greater control over scenting times and intensity, explore our waterless home scenting system developed with Scenting Spaces.

Does LORDS offer candle and reed diffuser refills?

Yes. We offer refills for selected candle vessels and reed diffusers, allowing you to keep enjoying your favourite fragrance while reusing compatible containers.

Our 200ml reed diffuser refills come in recyclable aluminium bottles with replacement reeds. We also offer selected candle refills and refillable room spray formats.

Is LORDS a sustainable home fragrance brand?

We're committed to making thoughtful choices wherever we can.

From refillable fragrance products and reusable vessels to recyclable aluminium packaging and FSC-certified packaging where applicable, we aim to help customers enjoy beautiful home fragrance with less unnecessary waste.

Does LORDS offer a candle subscription?

Yes. Our Candle Club offers a monthly scented candle delivery, featuring fragrances selected from our collection, including seasonal favourites and new launches.

What is the LORDS home scenting system?

Developed in collaboration with scenting specialists Scenting Spaces, our waterless home scenting system allows you to enjoy LORDS fragrances without water, flames or visible mist.

Control your scenting schedule and fragrance intensity from your phone, then simply refill when required.
